Little Shop of Horrors

The Audrey II plants from the Little Shop of Horrors that we hire out to Schools, Colleges and Amateur Dramatic Societies are proving very popular. Here’s what one satisfied customer from  a recent hiring said:-

Thank you so much for being so accommodating during our hire of the fantastic ‘Audrey 2′! The plant made our production of  ‘Little Shop’ and your willingness to assist us during the process was fantastic. It was an excellent show and the service at Scenetec has been fantastic. Thank you!

Taunton’s College, Southampton

You can have a look at all four of our hire plants in the props section. We also have other essential props for the show available to hire. If you need any more details, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

August 2009

We recently provided some scenic elements for a show called ‘Horse’ performed by Flick Ferdinando from Company FZ. We also supplied fireproofed straw bales which we had difficulty sourcing, despite being surrounded by fields of straw, due to the late harvest. Eventually we obtained them from the Dorset Centre for Rural Skills where they use them to make straw bale houses.

Catch the show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival from 7 – 31st August 2009.

July 2009

Last year we designed and built a set for ‘The Séance’ an outdoor show by Red Herring. Styled along the lines of an old fashioned Victorian parlour where psychic medium Hazel Doe awaits her guests, the set is constructed inside a large tent and incorporates several ghostly effects and trickery.

The show can be seen from 29th July – 2nd August at Watch This Space, the National Theatre’s outdoor summer festival on the Southbank.

June 2009

We have been commissioned to make a life-size prop of R2-D2 from the Star Wars films for a well known restaurant chain at their newly refurbished and re-styled premises in Birmingham.

In the process, we discovered there are hundreds of other R2-D2 makers around the world all sharing their enthusiasm for the cute cult droid.
